Welcome

WELCOME to the Anglemog website and congratulations to Paul Edwards our webmaster for bringing Anglemog into the 21st century! It's new, it will develop and we hope to have lots of photos and news items from our members for inclusion.

The East Anglian Centre (Anglemog) has been established for more than thirty years. Officially it has a catchment area covering a 40 mile radius of Witham, but in practice we have regular attendees from as far afield as Suffolk, Norfolk, Kent, Hertfordshire and Cambridge and over 60 families regularly attend Anglemog events.

In addition, in line with Morgan Sports Car Club policy, that any member of the MSCC can attend any Centre meeting/event, anyone attending our events are given a very warm welcome. We do not charge any additional subscription fees relating to our Centre, we just ask that you come along and enjoy yourselves with like minded people.

We have on average 40 people attending our regular evening meetings (known in Morgan terms, as Noggins) and our traditional New Years Day lunchtime Noggin, usually sees about 65 people turning out. In addition, our annual programme of events also includes a number of rallies, car shows, scenic runs, racing events, an annual trip to France; a now traditional weekend away in the Autumn and our Christmas Dinner & Dance. We have recently changed the location of our regular evening Noggin, (yet again) as we keep outgrowing the space available and we now meet on the second Thursday in the Month at the Regiment Way Golf Centre, Little Waltham, Chelmsford. We aim to provide a range of activities that all members of the family can enjoy and full details of this years programme can be found on our diary page.

We have an active committee who put the annual programme of events together, based on members' views expressed at our Annual General Meeting, held in November.Within striking distance of London, Essex has the longest coastline of any English county, and an abundance of picturesque villages set in rolling hills, river meadows and woodlands. Venture off the A12 and you will find delightful winding roads just built for Morgan driving with plenty of opportunities to stop at a pretty village pub offering good food and ale.

We all share a love of the marque, whether it is racing, hillclimbing, participating in gymkhanas and treasure hunts, or just meandering along country roads, enjoying the scenery and that wind in the hair experience. Who can resist the view down that long bonnet with the sun glinting off the chrome, arm resting rakishly on the cut away door?

So, to all MSCC members out there, whether from the UK or abroad, if you are visiting our area, why not come along and meet us, you can be assured of a warm welcome.

Happy Morganeering,

Rosemary Daunt

Centre Secretary
