PICNIC AND TOUR OF ROYAL GUNPOWDER MILLS

Meeting in Brentwood at 10.30 am just up the A1023 about 200 yds from the Junction of M25/A12/A1023 at the Nags Head Pub, 44 Brook St Hill (on the right, just before the traffic lights) in the car park. Then scenic route to Waltham Abbey, details to follow (approx 1 hour). Arriving at the RGM at 12.00 noon. Wait at “Hoppit Gate, in the coach park, for further instructions. Entry will be en-masse. Parking for Morgans only, together in the grounds. Bring a picnic, or the Café will be open. Tour of grounds by Land Train (extra £1.50 –recommended - 175 acres!! BUT in demand ) n.b. This can only be booked on the day. Paul has checked the web site and there is a WW1/WW2 re-enactment on that day, so suggests that, if you wish, appropriate attire of the period could be worn. (just an excuse to air the uniform if you ask me!)
